Pete A. Stark, CGMA, CPA
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Stark serves as Chief Executive Officer of Physicians Pharmacy Alliance (PPA), and continues to serve as PPA’s Chief Financial Officer, the role he initially assumed when he joined the Company in July 2012. Pete’s experience includes more than 20 years in financial planning and analysis, accounting, and operations management, the last 18 years exclusively in the healthcare sector. Before joining PPA, Pete worked for Accredo Health Group, Inc. from 2003 until 2012 in various senior finance, accounting and operational roles, most recently as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.
As CEO, Pete is responsible for providing strategic leadership by working with the Board to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. He drives strategic growth and functional excellence in pharmacy operations, accounting, financial planning and analysis, information technology, data reporting and analytics, and human resources. He has considerable experience in the design and operational execution of clinical programs that drive improved medication adherence and better patient outcomes. He also has significant experience in corporate mergers & acquisitions and divestitures.
Pete is a Certified Public Accountant (current status is Inactive) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Stark attended the University of Notre Dame and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Computer Information Systems from Christian Brothers University (Memphis, TN). He also serves on the Board of Directors of Paragon Bank.

Deanna McFadden, MJ, CPHQ, RHIT
Chief Compliance and Quality Officer
Deanna McFadden brings more than 25 years of quality, compliance and operational experience to PPA.
Empowered by her M.J. in health law and Six Sigma black belt certification, Deanna has successfully delivered compliance, quality management, risk management, and disaster recovery programs throughout the organization.
Instrumental in improving operational efficiencies across PPA, Deanna remains active in the industry; she is a Past Chairman of the URAC Accreditation Committee and is involved in the advisory boards for the development of industry standards.
Senior VP of Human Resources
Gail Stallings brings more than fifteen years of senior Human Resources experience with her to PPA. Before joining PPA, Gail served as the Vice President of Global Human Resources for Celestica Corporation.
As a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, Gail has a strong record of providing strategic HR Business Partner support to organizations and has a proven track record of developing and implementing performance management, talent and succession management, and employee engagement initiatives to support businesses in rapidly changing and competitive environments.
Gail holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and has participated in a number of Human Resources and Leadership Executive Programs.
Susan Goldstein Mackin
Senior VP of Client Services
Susan Goldstein Mackin brings to Physicians Pharmacy Alliance an extensive background in healthcare & Care Management. She comes from MedVentive, now part of McKesson. As a member of their senior management team, she established the Client Services organization and helped formulate the company’s strategy.
Susan spent the early years of her career working at Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts, and at the Henry Ford & Lovelace Medical Group health systems. She is an expert in improving quality and reducing costs through the use of care management and the application of applied analytics.
As SVP of Client Services at Physicians Pharmacy Alliance, she is responsible for supporting our managed care clients as they move from goals and adoption planning to implementation and beyond.
She holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts and a BS from Northeastern University.
F. Bartow (Bart) Hester
Senior VP of Sales & Business Development
Bart Hester is a results driven sales executive with thirty years of proven experience in management, business development, sales, marketing, account management, and leadership for healthcare services organizations. Before joining PPA, Bart was an Executive Vice President at Healthcare Solutions, Inc. where he significantly grew revenue and expanded the product portfolio. Bart has also held executive and/or sales leadership positions with AdvancePCS, United Healthcare, and Prudential Healthcare. As SVP of Sales and Business Development for PPA, Bart is responsible for the company’s growth in both the direct-to-physician and managed care organization channels and wil pursue and evaluate additional market segment expansion opportunities.
Bart holds a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Virginia and is a Coventry Healthcare of Georgia Board Member.
